Utility Grillage is a structural framework that connects helical piles to utility structure bases or tower legs, providing secure attachment and structural integrity. The pole base grillage accommodates helical pile diameters of 3.5 inches and 4.5 inches and is compatible with driven piles, drilled shafts, and micropiles. Fabricated from welded steel plates and hollow structural steel, it features hot-dip galvanizing, epoxy coating, or dual-coat systems for corrosion resistance. Manufacturing follows ISO 9001 and American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) 360 standards.<\/p>\n

The system is pre-engineered and modular, available in configurations supporting 3 to 16 piles per assembly. Vertical load capacities range from 5 to 350 kips, with moment capacities up to 22,000 kip-ft and ground line moments from 200 to over 20,000 kNm. Designs distribute vertical and horizontal loads effectively across foundations and can be tailored to specific bolt patterns, pile configurations, and structural interfaces.<\/p>\n

Above-grade installation requires no excavation or concrete, enabling rapid deployment in all weather conditions with minimal crew and light equipment. This eliminates curing delays and reduces project timelines to as little as one day while lowering costs through reduced equipment mobilization. The approach minimizes environmental disturbance, making it suitable for sensitive terrains including flood plains, wetlands, soft soils, and coastal areas.<\/p>\n

Applications span transmission line towers, substations, cellular towers, pipeline supports, and small buildings.
