The Pup Splice Closure supports low fiber count distribution in butt and in-line installations across below grade, aerial, and buried environments. Its compact design enables mounting in small hand holes while accommodating various cable entry configurations through six-port setups with 7\/8-inch and 3\/4-inch ports, or four-port versions with 1-1\/4-inch and 1-inch ports. Common dimensions include 17 inches in length, with widths and heights ranging from 6.0 to 8.6 inches and 7.2 to 7.25 inches respectively.<\/p>\n

Splice capacities reach up to 72 single fusion splices or 144 ribbon mass fusion splices, with standard configurations handling 48 single fiber splices. Fiber management utilizes compact 12-fiber splice trays for loose buffer tube and ribbon applications, providing organized storage with large bend radii. The closure supports both mechanical and fusion splices using elastomeric splice blocks for secure retention.<\/p>\n

The sealing system combines a permanent neoprene gasket in shell halves with the LOCK-TAPE Sealing System for end plates and cable seals, eliminating re-entry kit requirements. An integrated air valve verifies assembly integrity under varying environmental conditions. Future cable ports allow additional cable installations without end plate removal.<\/p>\n

Testing conducted per Telcordia GR-771 CORE standards confirms performance in demanding operational settings.
